So we have discussed how our massive Disney themed train table project was abandoned and we decided to shift all the builds to easily displayed mini dioramas. These builds were done in the 1:87 HO scale meaning most of these buildings were 3-4″ in height.
All of them were scratch built by us using polystyrene sheets and model supplies. One of my wife and daughter’s favorite characters and film are the Winnie the Pooh films and characters. We decided to try to tackle making Pooh’s house with Eeyore as well. Pooh’s house is about .5″ in width to give you an idea of scale.
One thing that became obvious quickly was the amount of variation in the design from film to film. We opted to use this one as our basis.
The Eeyore’s hut and Pooh’s house are scratch built with a model tree added to the roof and custom sculpted roots and honey pots. We added some plans and flocking to give it a more natural look.
