Model Train

1:87 scale scratch made Merida’s Ring of Stones from Brave

One of my daughter’s favorite movies is Brave.  It was the theme of her birthday party the year it came out.  It was natural that she would want to include the magical stone circle from the film in our fictional train village.  stones.png

This was the first build she did all by her self.  She sculpted the stones out of sculpey and added texture by pushing real rocks into the clay.  She baked them and then painted the rocks with an acrylic craft paint and aged them with a diluted wash of black paint.  She made the hill out of foam and add the grass flocking. The WIll O’ Whisps are cut off pieces of translucent blue flame from an action figure accessory.
